In 2021, breast cancer became the most common cancer globally according to the World Health Organization. A woman’s risk of breast cancer nearly doubles if she has a first-degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. However, less than 15% of women who get breast cancer have a family member diagnosed with it. Cancer doesn't care. It doesn't discriminate. But, thankfully, when breast cancer is caught early, it's not only treatable but curable.
Unfortunately, many women put off their mammograms. They put off biopsies when something is found. And they put off treatment because it's scary. But ignoring an issue doesn't make it go away. So, for those of us who are on this journey, whether our own or a loved one's, it's our responsibility to help spread awareness. Share our stories. Encourage others to get answers.
For each item purchased in the Breast Cancer collection, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to breastcancer.org, an organization dedicated to providing the most reliable, thorough, and easy-to-understand information about breast cancer and breast health for patients and caregivers. Their online community offers comfort and support through every aspect of diagnosis, treatment, and beyond.
